Drop off your recyclables at The Territory Can Man in Darwin. We are a Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) depot in Darwin where you can receive a 10-cent refund for each eligible bottle, can or carton purchased in the Northern Territory.
Bottles and cans must be separated before reaching the depot.
What could be better? The CDS pays you to recycle, reduce street litter and cut the amount of rubbish going to landfill.
From our Winnellie base, we are passionate about providing an efficient recycling service to Darwin and the top of the Territory, including some Aboriginal communities. As part of the CDS, we make cashing in on recyclables easy, fast and hassle free.
If you are really serious about recycling, you can pick up a bin to fill. You return the bin and we reimburse you for the contents!
Recycle to Raise Funds
The Container Deposit Scheme is a great way for Darwin community groups, schools and sporting clubs to raise funds. The Territory Can Man can accept cans, bottles and cartons which do not contain liquids or rubbish. Under Northern Territory legislation, the recyclables must also have been purchased in the Territory after January 3, 2012, to be eligible for the refund.
We can provide collection bins to be used at community events, the school canteen or anywhere the community can donate their containers. When the bins are returned to our depot, we tally the eligible recyclables and pay your organisation the necessary funds.
Of course, it’s not just about the money. By taking part in the CDS, children and club members are helping to clean up the local environment together.
